The book explores the quiet resilience of emotional disguise—the ways we conceal, distort, or soften the truth to survive in complex human relationships. Like weeds growing between sidewalk cracks, white lies and subtle performances take root in overlooked spaces of our daily lives. They are not always malicious; sometimes, they are mechanisms of empathy, self-protection, or silent rebellion.
The book brings together real-life narratives, psychological insights, and cultural reflections to examine how emotional masking functions in urban life. In a city known for its intensity and anonymity, small untruths often serve as emotional armor. What do we hide, and why? What truth are we really protecting?
